EXTRAORDINARY GUEST: Circus Themed Nursery

Hi!  I am Michelle from Bok Bok B'Gerk
and boy am I SUPER excited to be here today.

Bok Bok B\
I am only weeks away from giving birth to our second child and so I have been working hard to create a special space in our house for this new baby.

Putting together a room with a theme takes a lot of patience and flexibility.  I must say that my original vision for this room was absolutely nothing like how it actually turned out, but I love it soooo much. I started working on the nursery when we first moved in to our house almost two months ago, but due to illness and other stuff going on it has only just been deemed 'completed'.  Well, it's almost complete.

I hope you find our vintage circus themed nursery inspiring and I would love it if you stopped by Bok Bok B'Gerk sometime to say 'hello!'

Anyway, here is a view of the nursery as you walk in the door:

As the theme is vintage circus, it of course meant that we needed a string of bunting flags.  Gosh how I love bunting flags!
The ones below are made out of paper.
The flags with the Circus hot air balloons are actually made out of an
Italian wrapping paper
Such a lovely, lovely paper and well worth the effort it took to find someone in Australia that stocked it.
The rest of the flags are just made out of your run-of-the-mill scrapbooking paper:

Next we have the feeding and reading nook.
An Ikea Lillberg Rocking Chair equipped with a cushion made from the fabric I designed....

and a woolen crocheted granny stripe blanket I made a while back for those cold, cold nights:

On the toy box next to the rocking chair there is a lamp and a copy of Mary Poppins, which I plan to read to our little baby in the weeks prior to their arrival:

Did you see those lovely Goki Wooden Mouse Skittles?
They are my gift to the baby:

Over the change table are the tiny circus elephants,
ready to delight and amuse the little one:

and to the side is a vintage frame I painted, which houses a set of old crazy 8 cards I picked up on Etsy (yep, the cards are stuck directly to the wall):

Look at the detail in the frame.  Lovely!:

Next up is the cot quilt.  Warning:  If you are a 'real' quilter, divert your eyes NOW as the following images may offend.... I'm not kidding.  I am definitely NOT a quilter by any means and I don't claim to be.  I'm just creating a quilt for my baby, and taking the imperfections as they come!

The quilt is based off a drawing I did a while back and I think I will end up embroidering the baby's name on it once we know it!

Next to the cot we have magoo sitting in his new shiny wagon that I picked up for $2 in a garage sale. A bit of spray paint and she's looking as good as new!

This is the vintage wall art above him:

This time from a vintage book I picked up for $1 titled "In the Circus":

And finally, the bit everyone has been waiting for I'm sure.
The mural I painted on the wall:

Isn't he the cutest little thing with his party hat on!

*Phew* I am tired just showing you around!  Surely I deserve the rest of the week off now! lol!

I hope you enjoyed the tour : )
............................

 From Desiree:
Michelle, I am in LOVE with your baby's nursery...
